It's HOT out HERE!

Dylan was so hot at today's soccer game that he decided to put his face in the wet grass (it was a 9am game and there was still dew on the ground).

I love these running shots!

What's wrong with this picture?
Fall display- normal for the last days of September.
The sweat on Dylan because it it almost 90 degrees outside- not so normal! Where are you Fall???

Coast 2 Coast Dylan

Dylan had another great soccer game this past weekend. In fact, some of the other parents on our team are now calling him "Coast 2 Coast" Dylan! Twice during the game Dylan got the ball right before the other team scored and he took it all the way down the field to score a goal for our team! Go Dylan! Here are a couple pics:

Prayer Request

OK, so I am going to have a weak moment and ask for a prayer request- for myself. I've had a hard time dealing with the loss of my angel these past two weeks or so. I've had more breakdowns in two weeks than I had in all of July and August, I think. It has been like it was back in the beginning of June.

So I thought that once I started this crazy idea of of finishing my degree that I would have less time to dwell on my loss. However, that's not the case. Although I am extremely busy, the pain won't be pushed aside and it comes out at inopportune times such as the end of a PTA meeting and during class (I had to actually walk out of one class an hour early b/c I couldn't stop the breakdown). I was studying for a history class and couldn't concentrate hard enough to stop wishing she were still here.

So what brought this on? I really don't know. Maybe the stress I'm under, maybe the lack of sleep, or maybe the mental dam that I've constructed to keep all this inside so that I can be a good mom, student, etc. is slowly crumbling. Maybe it is because Dylan had a rough week last week at school and I'm hurting for him as well as for myself. (Last week they were learning about when it is appropriate to use 9-1-1. Unfortunately, Dylan is very aware and has real life experience with this. He couldn't finish one of his assigned worksheets b/c "it made him too sad." We as moms always want to take away our kids pain and make it all better- in this case there is nothing I can do and that just hurts.)

I am sure this will pass or at least become more manageable again. Maybe I'll get in a good month or so before the holidays begin....

Please just continue to pray for me as well for Dylan and Chris.

Soccer/RA Kick Off Party etc.

Dylan had his 2nd soccer game this morning. That boy sure can run! They didn't win but they had lots of fun!

After the game we had to take Dylan and his friend out to Arlington for the RA kickoff party. They got to swim, play pool, cook out, learn more about RA's and ride horses! Dylan had a blast! When I came to pick him up he wasn't done riding horses so I got to go on a ride as well. Its been years since I have been horseback riding- it was so much fun!

After that, we took some new flowers out to the cemetery for Cedie (see her blog for pictures).

Tonight Chris and I had dinner with Kim and her husband (she was Cedie's nurse both at LeB and home). We had a great time and we closed down the Happy Mexican restaurant! It was such a nice visit!.

Another First

He just keeps growing up! Besides soccer, cub scouts, choir, and RA's, Dylan has also joined the Children's Group at church. No longer can I drop him off in one of the nursery rooms on the pre-school hall at church! He now goes to Children's Worship with the 1-6 graders.

So tonight, the children's group had their kick off party from 7 to Midnight. I dropped him off at the church gym. They played there on a moonbounce, then took a bus to CiCi's pizza for dinner. After that they went to the bowling alley for some midnight madness cosmic bowling!

I was so sad when I dropped him off but he was so excited. This is the biggest thing he has ever done without mom and dad.

To cheer me up, my wonderful hubby took me to my favorite place to eat for dinner!

RA Dylan

It was another busy night for Dylan. He had choir at 5:30 and at 6:30 he had his first RA meeting. At least both meetings were at the same place, our church, unlike Mondays' activities!

RA's (Royal Ambassadors) is a lot like cub scouts but with a little less camping and a greater emphasis on God and the Bible. We talked to Dylan about just doing RA's but he really wants to do both. We'll see how this works...

Busy Mom

Tuesdays are my only days that I don't go to school. However, tonight I had a PTA board meeting and then I had to come home and work on my first college research paper since 2005! Ug!

I really was missing my baby angel Cedie tonight. Dylan was too. I found him in his room crying earlier tonight.
