Super Tuesday took on a whole new meaning for Memphis this week. We had a reported 9 tornados pass through our city over an 8 hour period. The National Weather Service called the super cell that hit Tuesday, a significant and rare event. Although our part of town was mostly unhurt (a miracle considering the sky/clouds/rain we saw from our door) other parts were not so lucky. They are still determining the death toll but last I heard it was 9. A mall was hit hard, taking the majority of Sears out. Pieces of Sears were found in Bartlett (where we are - approx. 30 min away) and in Arlington (approx. 45 min. away). Many lost their homes and thousands lost electricity. The TN governor and Pres. Bush will have both come to survey the devastation.
Luckily, our guardian angel Cedie watched over us and kept all of our family and friends safe. Chris' nephew is a student at Union University which was almost completely destroyed but he remained unharmed as well.

I am so glad you are ok!! I have been thinking about you all since I heard the news. I have other moms in other parts of the country that were also hit and they all checked in the next day so they must have not lost power or got it turned back on quickly so when I didnt hear from you I was worried but I am so happy to hear you are ok.
Glad you have that wonderful angel looking out for you all.
Hugs,
Crystal and Eva
